The race to sign Celtic full-back, Hatem Elhamed has begun as Hapoel Beer Sheva could be set to make the offer to take the Israli defender away from Parkhead.

As reported by Glasgow Live, Elhamed has recently spoken out about missing his family back in Israel and wanting a move back to his home country away from Glasgow in January.

The Hoops first signed Elhamed last summer from Hapoel Beer Sheva for a fee in the region of £1.6 million and he club are looking set to try and recoup that fee with this move.

Many will remember the name of the Israeli club too. Back in 2016, under Brendan Rodgers, the clubs faced each other for a place in the Champions League which we eventually got.

Ultimately, Hatem has the job of a footballer but some do forget he is also a human being. That aspect is taken away when he is here in Glasgow, miles away from his family who he hasn’t seen in months.

We wish him and his family all the best for the future when the move comes.
