According to reports this afternoon Celtic have had a SECOND bid for Charlton’s Alfie Doughty kicked out by the English club after a week of speculation.

Celtic are looking to bring in a left wing-back in this window to facilitate Neil Lennon‘a 3-5-2 system. While Doughty has been more of a winger, the scouting team at Celtic must believe he can adapt to the position.

However, a 650k big hasn’t been enough for Charlton according to the Glasgow Times. Even though Doughty has only got a year left on his deal, they want a higher price for the first team star.

Doughty scored at the weekend for Charlton, showing his worth again to the team. Celtic are likely going to go back in with a third bid if they see Alfie as the idea Bolingoli replacement.

Celtic played James Forrest in the left wing back position against Ross County, hardly the best place to lay the midfielder so it’s something that does need addressed.
