Going into this summer, there are several players who we are set to lose with the likes of Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer and Scott Brown likely to move on.

Another name who may be included in that list is midfielder Ryan Christie whose future at the club remains uncertain at this stage.

Reported by the Mail on Sunday, Christie could be set to depart the club on a free because he’s allowed to talk to other clubs in the summer about joining on a pre-contract basis. In a strange contract anomaly.

The paper reports Celtic signed the player on a three-year deal back in late November 2018 but that means the contract runs until December 2021.

Many Celtic fans assume when a deal like that gets made they mean three years after the rest of that particular season. It would be astonishing if this is the case.

So the club now definitely look to have a decision on their hands. Sell the player for some sort of fee or allow him to leave the club on a free deal by signing a pre-contract elsewhere.

It will certainly be interesting to see what the future holds for the 26-year old, with the possibility of a new manager possibly wanting him to be part of his plans going forward.

  1. Christie should just go now. One of those who clearly didn’t give a stuff. Runs his backside off for Scotland, does nothing virtually for us. Cheerio
