Ange Postecoglou was in a buoyant mood on Saturday afternoon after his Celtic side demolished Hibs 6-1 in a very pleasing performance and result.

The manager had once again made some changes to the side with players now beginning to benefit from extra game time which is something manager highlighted when Celts Are Here spoke to the boss last week.

Nobody within the dressing room at Celtic will be content with the Champions League results up until now, but the gaffer wanted to once again reiterate what he had previously said when questioned on the matter.

Celtic have two games remaining to keep their European hopes alive after Christmas and will be hoping for results to improve in the competition with the Scottish champions showing that they are able to compete at this level with the story of the campaign being missed chances.

“Some of the reporting around us has been fairly ridiculous. I don’t know why everyone’s lumping us in with other clubs — I just don’t understand that,” said Ange Postecoglou [Celtic Youtube].

“At Champions League level, we’ve fallen short of taking opportunities. I understand we need to improve that, but in terms of our will and endeavour to play football the way we said we would, we’ve been doing that all along. My only fear or worry I have is the boys lose focus or get distracted by the outside noise that somehow we’re not playing well.

“I know we are because all the underlying stuff that we talk about is there. That’s easy for me to say, but it’s about putting it into practice. The boys were determined and did that today.”

There has been a lot of negative press and noise outside of Celtic and Postecoglou had clearly had enough with a performance on Saturday showing all the good aspects of his team while missing key players.

It’s very easy to forget how far Celtic have come under the former Socceroos boss who is looking to constantly make improvements with this season being his first go at Europe’s elite competition.

Celtic’s issues in the Champions League are not an overnight fix, if they were more teams would be consistently wining in the tournament.

The group lack experience at this level and Celtic are by no means the finished product under Postecoglou.
