Celtic full-back Lee O’Connor has made his return to English League Two side Tranmere Rovers on a season-long loan.
This evening, both clubs announced that the Irishman would be spending another campaign with Rovers, with whom he spent the entirety of the 2020/21 campaign.

He also joins a familiar face in Ross Doohan, joining up with former Dundee United manager Micky Mellon’s squad.
Last season he played 42 times for Tranmere as they pushed for promotion in League Two and also helped them make the Papa John’s Trophy cup final, losing out to Sunderland.
O’Connor featured for Ange Postecoglou during pre-season but failed to make a first-team competitive appearance, with Anthony Ralston making that position his own.
Add to that the addition of Josip Juranovic; this move seems like another good one for O’Connor to go out and play first-team minutes and gain crucial experience at the early stages of his career.
