BRENDAN RODGERS has had to field more questions about Celtic youngster Daniel Arzani after many Australian football pundits have had their say during the international break.

Some have branded the move an ‘error’ by Arzani’s agent, others believe he must head back to Manchester City in January to find a new loan club.

However, the Celtic manager was having none of it.

The Irishman has brought the player in to make an impact but only when the time is right.

Rodgers will not be pressured into playing a talent who he believes isn’t ready yet – he did the same with Kristoffer Ajer and it paid dividends in the long run.

Speaking about Arzani’s situation the manager made it clear where the young Socceroos star stands and believes he’s here to develop and there’s no clause to take him back to City before then.

“Daniel is a 19-year-old boy who has come in for two years to get experience.

“He has burst on to the scene in Australia and of course they will want him to do well.

“But there is no exit clause with Man City.

“He has adapted very well and much as people would love him to come in and play he wasn’t ready.”

Arzani made a late appearance for the bench on international duty this time around. His Celtic teammate Tom Rogic got on the scoresheet against Kuwait in that match.
