If you have been watching the Celtic team training in Dubai so far this week, you may have noticed a couple of absentees.

For the eagle-eyed among the support, they will know there has been no sign of Kieran Tierney or Odsonne Edouard on the Dubai training field.

Brendan Rodgers has made the revelation that Kieran Tierney is still not fit and could miss out training at all in their Dubai training camp. The Celtic manager did give Celtic fans some light relief when he confirmed Edouard is likely to take part in some of the training in Dubai ahead of the second half of the season.

“The break is also good for the injured players, but a few of them are still a little while away from full fitness,” Brendan Rodgers told CelticTV.

“We’ve got Odsonne and Kieran – Kieran probably won’t train this week, but there’s a good period for him to work closely with the medical team. Odsonne will train later on in the week.

“Of course, those are quality players, which means they’re important players for us. It’s going to be very important for us to get them back as quickly as we can.”

Tierney has been out since the Salzburg game, but even during the European tie, the player didn’t look comfortable at all. Rodgers told fans the left-back would likely be playing before the winter break, but it never materialised.

The hip injury the player is carrying seems to be very troublesome, and it’s unclear at this point if the defender will be ready for the Airdrie game in under two weeks.
