SCOTT BROWN has dispelled any notion he will miss the Scottish Cup final by declaring himself fit for Saturday after enjoying some down time after winning the league.

Brown has not played since the Ibrox loss and there were concerns the Celtic captain would miss out due to a broken toe. However, the club has managed the player well and there will be no way he misses Saturday’s showpiece final.

Asked about his injury status, the double treble winner said:

“Looking forward to Saturday, I’ve had couple of days off training due to having the luxury of us winning the league with a couple of week to spare. I got some days off to chill, to make sure I’m ok and be ready to go” Brown told the 90minute Cynic.

Celtic go into the game knowing more history awaits them if they manage a win at Hamden at the weekend. A victory would cap a third consecutive treble for the this squad and put them into the history books.

It’s a testament to the players who haven’t always been at their best but still find themselves in this position. Celtic will go into their first final in three years without Brendan Rodgers at the helm but that shouldn’t matter to these lads. Neil has been in charge of the last two rounds of the competition and put out to tough sides in Aberdeen and Hibs.
