SCOTT BROWN had a cheeky little dig at a certain Ibrox club when he was asked about the last final Celtic weren’t involved in at Hamden three years ago.

It was Hibernian vs The Rangers that day when Hibernian broke an over 100 year hoodoo to land the Scottish Cup with the last attack of the game. Celtic loan stars Liam Henderson and Anthony Stokes at the time both played their part in an amazing victory for the Leith side in the most dramatic of fashion.

When asked about that game Scott Brown quickly raised a cheeky smile and said: “I watched that game, It was a good game.” he told 90MinuteCynic.

The captain got serious after that and admitted he was envious on the day “Watching that game, I was a little bit jealous they were in a cup final and we weren’t. From then, Brendan came in and changed our mindset on how we can play at Hamden and how we can improve”

Of course a year later it would be Celtic’s turn against Aberdeen and a very late Tom Rogic goal sent the Celtic players to the exact same spot David Gray had celebrated just a year prior. Celtic bagged their first treble of this amazing run with that Scottish Cup win and as we go into Saturday’s game the players and fans are still as hungry as ever.

Celtic go into the game knowing more history awaits.
