FILIP BENKOVIC has told fans he doesn’t know where he will be playing his football next season and admitted nothing will be decided until at least after his international call up with Croatia.

The big defender was named in the Croatia squad this week after his exploits for Celtic this season helped him get the nod.

Celtic fans would love to be able to keep Filip for another season and it’s not beyond the realms of possibility with the both the Croatian and Brendan Rodgers open to the idea of another loan this summer.

Speaking about the summer, the defender was unclear but did admit he has enjoyed his football in Glasgow.

“I can’t talk about it at this point because nothing is known yet. And it will not be known for some time, probably only after all my international duties this summer.” Benkovic told Croatian Website SpotsKe.

“But I’ve really enjoyed being at Celtic, I have had some great moments here, I have had a successful season, enjoyed my football and I will never regret it.”

Croatia will play Wales then Tunisia in June before the squad disbands and Benkovic enjoys a break before pre-season. The Tunisia game is on June 11th so conceivably, Celtic fans could know by the end of June if the defender is coming back in for another year.
