Celtic captain Scott Brown says he is ‘old enough and ugly enough to deal with it’ to accept being dropped if it means benefitting Neil Lennon’s side.

As reported by the Glasgow Times, Brown has faced his fair share of critics so far this season, after putting in a few poor performances this season, which has been a bit of a theme for not just Brown but the entire squad this season. But he has admitted he is willing to be dropped if it means it will benefit the team.

“Don’t worry about me, I just keep going on. If the manager needs me, I’m there for him. If he needs to rest me, if he needs to play someone else, then I’m old enough and ugly enough to deal with it.

“I do whatever’s best for this team. Don’t you worry about myself or me listening to anyone else. I just worry about the team performance, it is not about individuals that you like to come after.

“For us it is all about us sticking together, not listening to the media, not listening to anything else, just worrying about ourselves.”

This isn’t the first time that the 35-year old has faced calls for him to be removed from the side and has bounced back time and time again.

At this moment, it may be best for certain games that he does drop to the bench. Not only or the squad but also the benefit of himself. He is also a great bench option for Lennon to have and we have seen that this season, in a 2-0 win over St Johnstone.

When it comes to Brown, I am sure that he will be willing to do anything he can to change our fortune. We all know how big a legend he is at the club and will be looking out for our best interest’s.
