Celtic have been linked with Steven Fletcher this summer after his old Hibees pal and pundit Tam McManus claimed the Scotsman would prefer a move to Celtic after leaving Sheffield Wednesday.

However, while the club haven’t turned their nose up at a possible deal down the line, according to RecordSport, Celtic have no plans to get into a bidding war for the 33-year-old’s services and if they chose to bring Steven in, it would be on their terms.

There are reportedly four Championship clubs chasing Steven at the moment, with talks being held on his future.

Celtic appear to have made it clear they aren’t going to be rushed and Steven is lower down the list of targets at the moment.

Neil Lennon wants another striker in but has yet to find any joy. Ivan Toney proves allusive and while the club agreed on a deal with West Ham over the loan of Albian Ajeti, the striker has yet to commit to anything surrounding his future.
