It’s easy for Celtic fans to talk highly of Kieran Tierney – he’s one of our own.

Maybe an even more significant testament to the young Celt is that there has been zero negativity surrounding him from outside of Celtic Park; absolutely everyone knows how good he is.

Everyone agrees, there is something special about this kid. The most negative thing that has been heard or said about KT is that Celtic won’t be able to hang on to him, he’s too good. When Rodgers goes, he will take KT with him.

Past Celtic players have lauded over him, and even the mainstream press has said he’s the best thing to come out of Scotland since Dalglish. Wow.

Below is some of the praise coming in for KT outside of Celtic Park and Scotland.

Ex-Footballers:

“I’ve got to be honest with you here, I love young Tierney, He’s a tenacious, highly talented wee guy and I’d go as far as to say he’ll end up winning more than 50 Scotland caps.” – Barry Ferguson

“He’s a real talent, Tierney, the future,” Gary Lineker

“Excellent left-back, attacking full-back. I’m sure a lot of sides are watching him.” –
Steven Gerrard

“I would have walked over broken glass to play for Celtic as a kid. Kieran Tierney was obviously the same way”. – Alan Brazil

Tierney is Scotland’s best player now – he’s different to anything else we’ve got. He is the next one who could go to a Premier League club and play regularly. He could play for a Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal or Manchester United without a doubt”. – Charlie Adams

“I would take Tierney at Chelsea right now. “He’s that good. I remember Tierney in his early days and watching him for Scotland against England. “The highest possible compliment you can possibly pay a player is that he reminds me of Danny McGrain. You can’t say any more than that.” – Pat Nevin

“He is already top class. What’s more, as his club manager Brendan Rodgers has said, he is only going to get better. In fact, the young player he reminds me of is not from these shores but from Italy, Paolo Maldini. I say that because of the way both became near-instant fixtures in their respective first teams after making the breakthrough.” – Gordon Smith
