PAUL HECKINGBOTTOM lost the plot at Easter Road on Saturday afternoon with the pressure of his slow start to the season clearly showing.

The Hibs boss went full spin after the game when he declared the biggest injustice in the game was Olivier Ntcham not being sent off for pushing one of his player’s and declared there was THREE punches he could have been sent off for.

Eh?

Ntcham and Vela squared off with Oli leaving himself open to a red by lifting his hands. We’ve seen players sent off for this and we’ve seen players also just get a talking to. It’s astonishing the Hibs boss sits and blames the ref on the day when it was in fact Kevin Clancy who done his team a huge turn by turning down two stonewall Celtic penalties.

But the biggest injustice was of course the Ntcham incident according to the Easter Road boss.

“That is the worst one and that is the biggest injustice.” he told SunSport.

“Refs get things wrong and we should have dealt with it after he gave the free kick.

“But that, everybody has been let down by that, EVERYONE.

“All the supporters, all the players, everyone connected with the club.

“Listen, there is an incident, a couple of arms thrown. He can claim he hasn’t seen it. Fine

“But the fact he is actually stood right there between the two players when the third one comes in on the end of Vela’s chin.

“So you tell me why it isn’t a sending off? Everyone makes mistakes, everyone has bad games.”

Neil Lennon reacted to the incident after the game in a more calming approach even though he had just seen his side have two penalties turned down by the referee.

“We know you can’t lift your hands.” Lennon told CelticTV.

“It was a bit of a kerfuffle and I think common sense prevailed.

“But, we’ll have to have a quiet word with Olly about that.

“But he was probably very incensed about something.”

The game ended 1-1 and many of the Celtic players will be looking for retribution in the semi-final of the League Cup.

  1. Spot on Green machine but they are getting away with it week in week out and the SFA are allowing it to happen. Time we had neutral referees in this country…..

  2. His hibs job is on the line he had to say some thing to get backing of his fans, but he knows we sold the the game and again by the same defender that makes mistakes in games if he had defended his controversial own goal better and cleared the ball over the line without turning his body and then directing the ball to his own goal then we would have won this game,he has made some other mistakes in games but this cost us 2 points,it was the defenders mistake by turning his body, and now he needs to take responsibility for the mistakes that he is making…
