Given what’s at stake this season, so many Celtic supporters are fixated on domestic success while Europe takes a back seat. In many other seasons, it’s where supporters like to judge how far their team have progressed or regressed.

As we go into the game against Milan on Thursday, we’re in a bizarre situation. The game, while huge, offers Celtic fans and players a bit of respite from the pressure of ten in a row and all that it brings.

The Italian giants are coming to town in what will be a very difficult game for the Scottish champions, however, the pressure isn’t there.

Europe matters and every Celtic side should aspire to be the best they can. I think we’ll get 110% from the bhoys in our six fixtures and they might just play that little bit better knowing the weight of their shoulders isn’t as great on Thursday that it is Sundays.

Ultimately, Celtic fans want one thing this season above all else, but we have the chance to play some big sides and make a real go of it, while hopefully not jeopardising our domestic goals.
