KIERAN TIERNEY has been flying down south since leaving Celtic, his club won the FA Cup last season and while they aren’t league title contenders, there’s a growing feeling Kieran’s ceiling isn’t Arsenal. Don’t tell that to their fans though, we have had many messages lately when we have claimed Kieran will outgrow the London club.

When we talk about Celtic’s finances and the money we could gain from sell-on clauses, nobody has spoken about Kieran to this point.

SunSport reported at the time Celtic have a sell-on clause of 15% but that’s against profit from the sale and not overall fee.

There’s no doubt Kieran can make it at a higher level and move to a club challenging for league title silverware.

When the summer window opens, surely the left-back could be in play.

If so, he could help firm up the coffers of any rebuild the club look to undertake.

We already know there will be a fee coming our way from Lyon when Moussa’s permanent deal to Atletico goes through in the next window. Getting money in from these sales could prove vital as we look to enter a new era.

Nothing is guaranteed with Kieran but if you’ve been watching the lad, he will certainly be on many club’s radars. What would it take for Arsenal to sell their defender or do they see him as a future captain?

It would have to be a large offer for Celtic to get anything meaningful cash windfall because Arsenal would have to clear £25m before the clause came into play.

  1. Given clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham have taken out loans from the BoE, I’m not convinced there will be much movement in the summer.
