Celtic is intensifying its efforts to strengthen the left-back position, a need identified prior to the January transfer window.

With just over 24 hours left before the window closes, the club is reportedly working behind the scenes to secure a signing, possibly on loan, as reported by Football Scotland.

The urgency to bring in a left-back has been amplified following Greg Taylor’s injury. While Bernabei started in the weekend’s match, there are concerns about his suitability for Celtic’s requirements, as he has yet to demonstrate the expected level of performance.

Celtic’s transfer activity this window has so far been limited. The club has completed the signing of winger Nicolas Kuhn and is close to announcing a loan deal for striker Adam Idah from Norwich City. The pursuit of a left-back appears to be Celtic’s primary focus as the deadline approaches, with no indications of further signings beyond this position.

The club’s management is likely to continue their search right up to the deadline, hoping to find a suitable candidate to bolster the team’s defensive line.
