The SFA have confirmed the referee for Celtic’s potential title clincher this weekend will be none other than John Beaton.
It’s a controversial appointment when you consider the referee has not officiated a Celtic game since his shocker at Ibrox. The whistler had three chances to send Alfredo Morelos off in the game but did nothing.
There were then alleged pictures of the referee in a popular Rangers bar after the game although this has been refuted.
Since then, Beaton has not refereed a Celtic game but the SFA have handed the under-fire official with a potentially explosive match where Celtic could make it eight in a row.
Celtic go to Aberdeen on Saturday knowing they only need a point to get over the line. On the day we will need a strong official after what we saw from Aberdeen in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup.
