Tony Watt will be available to play against his former side Celtic on Saturday after having his red card overturned on appeal.

Two weeks into VAR and the SPFL have overturned VAR official’s decision after it was proven to be bogus.

Watt was sent off during the Motherwell game for serious foul play. However, footage clearly shows Watt not even touching his opponent. Despite that, VAR issued the former Celtic striker with a red and he missed the rest of the game.

After a fast track hearing, Dundee Utd announced the appeal had been successful and Tony can now make the trip to Celtic Park.

Saturday will be the first time VAR has been used in a domestic capacity at Celtic Park. We have had the technology for Europe only, and the first two games with VAR have been away from home.

As we have already witnessed – VAR is only as good as the people using it.
