Southampton fansided website are reporting Fraser Forster is now ‘too far gone’ and will not be part of the club’s plans going forward.

The site writes:

This comes in the wake of RecordSport claiming Celtic were trying to wrap up another loan deal for the goalkeeper which will keep him at the club next season for the ten in a row tilt.

The player’s exit from St Mary’s looks even more likely with the Southampton boss who banished Fraser to the reserves signing on with the club for another four years.

Neil Lennon has made no secret he wants to have the keeper at the club going forward. Fraser is on massive wages at Southampton at the moment, he might need to take a cut to get his move to Celtic Park.

We should be informed sooner rather than later if this has been possible. Celtic have released players but have made no mention of the out of contract Craig Gordon. They could be waiting to see the outcome of Fraser’s deal before pulling the trigger on Gordon one way or the other.

It’s a precarious situation. If Celtic were to miss out on Forster and Gordon was to go, the club would have Scott Bain as number one with a youth goalie as a backup.
