CELTIC may not have a permanent manager at the moment but the scouting and preparation for next season still continues as the bhoys figure out who will be the man to lead the ship come the summer.

The club simply can’t afford to wait until the summer and be reactive in the transfer market. Right now the scouting team will be working hard behind the scenes so whoever comes in as full time boss in the summer can hit the ground running.

With that in mind, Celtic have again been linked with a move for Edson Alvarez, a player who was rumoured to be on Celtic’s radar back in January.

Alvarez, 21, currently plays for América in the Mexican league with a market value of around £6.75m according to TransferMarkt.

The Mexican would be an ideal signing for Celtic. Someone young who they can improve and sell for a profit in the future.

With Boyata leaving at the end of this campaign, it’s important the club is not caught cold.

Every attempt should be made to make sure any manager coming in has the best chance going into Europe.
