Celtic goalkeeper, Vasilis Barkas has revealed that the squad is raring to go and ready to push back towards the top of the Scottish Premiership.

The Greek number one, had arguably his best game since joining the club and was full of praise for his team-mates after an emphatic victory.

As reported by the Sun, Barkas spoke on the winning mentality you must have when playing for a club like the Scottish Champions and that Neil Lennon’s squad is getting better game by game.

“All of my team-mates are feeling very good and feeling as though we can win wherever we go and whatever match we go into.

“This is the way it has to be at Celtic and we’re going to become better the more we find ourselves on the field and get used to each other. We are waiting to have a lot of wins and take the Championship again.

“I enjoyed the Ross County game a lot. We hadn’t played together for a while because of international games, so it was good to play again with my new team-mates and I was very happy that we managed to win the match.”

Saturday’s fixture saw the Celts go to the 3-5-2 formation for the first time this season and also included new signing from Brighton Shane Duffy, so it is understandable that it may take a bit of time to gel.

So far, Barkas hasn’t put a foot wrong, despite facing criticism from some. At the weekend though, he showed exactly why he is Celtic’s number one and will hopefully be for years to come.

Hopefully the squad can kick on now, starting with Wednesday. Two wins in the next two games, can launch us to the top of the league so it is important we pile the pressure on now.
