CELTIC have taken many by surprise this morning by announcing their second summer transfer signing less than 25 hours after confirming Christopher Jullien.

The youngster was seen at Celtic Park during the week with his representatives and Peter Lawwell but nobody had any idea the deal was this close.

The player had not signed a professional deal with Bolton and was free to move with a FIFA compensation fee the only thing Celtic have to worry about.

The defensive midfielder is highly rated and has already represented Ireland at under 19 level. This summer he was called up to train with the full Ireland squad as he continues his development.

Neil Lennon was keen to get the youngster in from his old club and now he has managed to get it over the line.

Luca will be a work in progress but it’s great to see the club being proactive in snapping up young talent on this occasion.
