Rocco Vata, the 18-year-old sensation, has once again proven why he’s one of the most talked-about young talents at Celtic and in the Irish youth set up.

During an away game at San Marino, Vata scored a remarkable second-half hat-trick for the Ireland U21 team, a feat that not only secured a victory for his team but also etched his name deeper into the ‘ones to watch’ category. Ireland won the game 7-0 in the end.

Vata’s exceptional performance takes his tally to an impressive five goals in just two appearances for the U21s, showcasing an innate scoring ability that few possess at such a young age.

Currently in the final stretch of his deal with Celtic, Vata has a crucial decision looming over his career. Despite Celtic offering him a new contract, speculation is rife that Vata might be looking to spread his wings and explore new challenges come summer.

While Daniel Kelly might have been the breakthrough player for Celtic this season, Vata’s recent outing with the Ireland U21s underscores a talent that refuses to be overshadowed. His departure could represent a significant loss for Celtic.

  1. Vata currently is in the category of big decision awaits upon his Celtic future, come the end of season?
Already a number of players within that category within the 1st team squad already?
Even harder when it’s not certain that Rodgers will still be in charge, to actually make these decisions imo?
I can’t see the structure of the club changing from its current format presently, even if changes within the personal of players will change, but to what degree is far from certain and not really worth looking into at this stage either?
Regardless, we could well be looking at a choice between Vata, forrest and Mikey Johnson on who could possibly make up the 7th position available within a front 3 of a 25man squad imo?
Should this be the case, then all 3 options could make a strong case for getting the position within our squad next season?
Forrest still remains a big favourite of Rodgers, even if his best days are behind him?
Mikey Johnston is currently on great form with a renewed confidence found currently, but could he yet find that for ourselves?
Vata has youth on his side, and also able to play through the centre, along with the wider areas, so potentially the most flexible out of the 3?
Personally believe that Vata would be my preferred choice, but things do change in football very quickly also?
Not the easiest decision to be making, and one a manager gets paid the big bucks to be making also?

  2. sell Johnson never going to make it with the tic, Jamsie is at the tail end but we should find a place for him. We must keep Vata as it would be a monumental mistake to sign him
