The Celtic manager has hit back strongly at the suggestion his players aren’t as invested in trying to win ten in a row as the supporters are this season.

History looks to be getting further and further away with every passing game and the bhoys in green show no signs of turning a corner. Neil Lennon, by his own admission, has claimed he’s tried just about everything to get this team going but has failed to this point.

This has led some supporters to make the accusation some of the players don’t want to be here and they aren’t bothered by the ten in a row target.

Sitting at the media press conference ahead of the dead rubber against Lille on Thursday, the Celtic manager refused to accept that was the case and pushed back against the suggestion.

“It’s not the case at all, it’s certainly not true, they’re feeling it.” Lennon explained to CelticTV.

“For anyone to accuse any of our players of not understanding or not caring, it’s way off the mark.”

If Celtic want to try and make an honest fist of things in the coming weeks, they have to pick themselves up now and keep going. Confidence is at an all-time low and anyone coming up against the team think they can roll us over.

We need to get some sort of fear factor back and we need to start playing like we’re the hungrier team.
