AARON MOOY is reportedly in talks with the club regarding a new contract, with the Aussie midfielder standing out again on Sunday.
The summer signing set one up before brilliant dinking Matthews in the St Johnstone goals.
After a slow start to his Celtic career, he’s turned it around, and is now proving to be a top signing. Many expected this to be O’Riley’s season, and the Dane would break through and prove pivotal, but Mooy’s performances have displaced him of a starting spot.
Speaking on Sky Sports after the match, Aaron Mooy wasn’t getting drawn in by the speculation, but it did bring a smile to his face. He said:
“Long term? I’m getting a bit older. I’m just enjoying what I’m doing day by day. That’s as far as I think ahead, but we’ll see.”
He initially signed a two-year deal, meaning his contract will expire at the end of next season. It seems a bit odd to look to extend that at the moment, given his age, but he doesn’t show any signs of decline as he excels in the SPFL.
