CHRIS SUTTON admits he will be disappointed to see BT give up their Scottish Football coverage if reports this morning are correct.

The former Celtic striker turned pundit it was one the standout reasons why BT Sports has been such a success since getting some of the rights to Scottish football.

They treat our game seriously and not like an afterthought.

Sky Sports are only interested in derby games, and even at that they recently only had 15 minutes post-match coverage of a Glasgow Derby so they could move on to the Premier League fixture of the day.

Reports suggest Sky Sports are about to win the SPFL TV deal outright and will have exclusivity for £100million over three years.

This might seem like a large chunk of change but in comparison to our neighbours and even leagues like Norway where they receive around £45million per year for their TV rights.

Sutton is hoping the reports aren’t true because he knows the coverage BT give the Scottish game is far superior and he likes to help Champion the cause.

“BT Sport have supported and shouted about the game up here and the fans we meet tell us how much they love it.

“From my point of view, the reports on the SPFL rights deal are really disappointing.

“Without prejudging anything as I’ll be the last to find out who will win, our BT Sport coverage of Scottish football is first class.”

  1. I think Chris should go tell his bosses at BT they should put down 60 million a year for 60 games plus cups and play offs and that they can have that deal for four years maybe five years nothing is done and dusted yet go tell them and we can see what happens…

  2. It’s up to us fans to boycott Sky.
If you really want to bring them down then make it not worthwhile for them.
Ban them. Don’t subscribe to them. It won’t kill you, but it might kill them up here.
