BRENDAN RODGERS brought Jack Hendry in last January.

Since then the player has made 25 appearances for the club and has varying degrees of success.

The Irishman lamented the number of times he has had to play Jack in his Celtic career so far, saying he wanted to protect the former Dundee defender when he initially came in.

Hendry was 22 when he came to the club, but Rodgers clearly saw him as a project.

It was back in late September since we have seen the player in action when the bhoys got a precious 1-0 win over Aberdeen thanks to a Scott Sinclair back heel.

Rodgers has had his defender on the bench since, but Jack hasn’t made the matchday squad the past two games against Hibs and Motherwell.

Is this a sign Brendan Rodgers is going to let the player go out on loan in January to get more game time?

It seems crazy to think of Celtic getting rid of any defenders, even temporarily, because we’re so short. BUT if Hendry is not going to play a significant role or any role in the 2nd half of the season, then he would be best served going out to get first-team football.

I wonder if this is in Brendan Rodgers’ mind as he looks to reshape his squad.
