Celtic were punished at the start of the season after Boli Bolingoli got on a plane to Spain for the night, breaking strict rules surrounding the virus and putting people in danger.

Today, the news our city rivals have had to suspend two players for attending a party during the current restrictions has sent more alarm bells ringing.

Scottish football is on a short leash with the Government and this could have serious consequences for the league as a whole. However, if we’re allowed to continue, surely the only outcome is what happened to both Aberdeen and Celtic; games being postponed as a result of the rule break.

It’s crazy to think we’re into November and there are still players out there who will take chances with their club and career. We’re certain this won’t be the only isolated incident but right now it’s a major talking point.

While our rivals have been quick to suspend the player, the SFA and SPFL will surely now step in.
