SCOTT BAIN has today came out and blasted Motherwell for blatantly taking an unsporting advantage to claw themselves back into a game which was already beyond them.
Celtic were 2-0 up and cruising when the Motherwell players decided to disregard sporting integrity and play on in a situation where Celtic were expecting the ball to be returned to them. Not only that they seemed to pretend that’s what they were about to do until they were further up the pitch and bearing down on goal.
At the time the whole of Celtic Park was incensed and Scott Bain was left exposed as Motherwell became the first team to score against the goalkeeper this year.
Speaking about the incident ahead of Celtic’s SPFL tie with Hearts on Wednesday, the Celtic goalkeepr did not pull any punches and insisted Motherwell should have let Celtic through to score after the incident.
?️ SB on Motherwell goal: “I’ve never seen anything like it. I would be embarrassed today if I was them waking up. They had a chance to rectify the situation, let us score a goal and they would have got plaudits if they did that but it was disappointing.”
