Celtic are reportedly set to hold out for around £20 million this summer, in the sale of striker Odsonne Edouard.

As reported by the Daily Record, English Premier League side Leicester City have once again expressed their interest in signing the Frenchman, but the Hoops won’t let him go that easily and are looking to hold out for around £20 million.

Under normal circumstances, with a player of Edouard’s quality, we would be hoping to get a bigger fee.

However, with his contract running down to just one year remaining in the summer, it leaves Celtic in the position that they will almost need to sell him to make at least some profit back on our most expensive transfer.

It comes as no surprise that former manager Brendan Rodgers and Leicester City are the ones interested in bringing the French under-21 internationalist to the club.

It is also reported that they believe they can sign the 23-year old for around £15 million. So, it would be good to see the club stick to its word and demand the fee we feel is deserved.

The sale of Edouard could be crucial ahead of this summer’s rebuild, so the quicker we get that fee the better, if possible
