JOSIP JURANOVIC made his first post-World Cup appearance for Celtic at Ibrox, called upon by Ange Postecoglou after Greg Taylor had to come off injured.
It wasn’t his best match in green and white, in fact, it was arguably his worst, but Ange Postecoglou has no issues with him.
He was probably at fault for both goals, but the circumstances were against the player who just struggled to get into the match.
Speaking ahead of his side’s clash against Kilmarnock, Ange Postecoglou assured that he had no issues with Juranovic, stating he’s getting on well. He said: [Celtic TV]
‘He’s fine. Look, he wasn’t 100% but, like our players know, when you cross that white line you’re 100%.
“Josip didn’t have the best game last week, he wasn’t the only one, particularly through the middle part of the game.
“He’s been an outstanding contributor for us for the last 18 months. He’s been an unbelievable acquisition, he’s done an unbelievable job.
“He’s had an amazing World Cup for himself. He’s a highly-rated member of this team, works hard every day, and trains hard every day, I’ve got no issues with Josip.
“Last week circumstances meant that it wasn’t his best performance for us, but in terms of his contribution, I’ve got no issues. He’s still very important.”
It’ll be interesting to see what happens this week, and who Ange decides to start at left-back. It’ll either be Josip Juranovic or Alexandro Bernabei, who is a natural left-back. But the Arginine was on the bench at Ibrox, yet Postecoglou opted to play Josip Juranovic out of position.
The Croatian is being heavily linked to a Celtic exit this January, with the club receiving its first offer for the player.
