Celtic has been linked to Aaron Mooy after he had his contract in China ripped up.

However, despite some links to Celtic, the Aussie midfielder won’t be pulling on the green and white hoops next season Ange Postecoglou has confirmed.

The midfielder was heavily linked last summer, so suggestions that he could be Glasgow bound this year were always going to surface.

As quoted by The Herald Ange responded to the rumours, saying;

“Aaron’s a fantastic footballer, somebody I know really well,” he said.

“I guess he’s getting linked with us. I’m sure he will get picked up, he’s a good player, a very talented player.

“He’s another footballer who is very much talented and very much in my range, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to bring him in, no.”

This doesn’t really come as a surprise to the Celtic fans. It didn’t seem like it would ever happen, and it’s probably for the best.

Celtic Still in the Market for a Midfielder

There is no smoke without fire, and at the moment all of Celtic’s links are with players in the middle of the park. The boss confirmed there would still be a couple of incomings as he looks to strengthen his squad.

Mitchut was the latest midfielder to be linked with a move to Parkhead, but the Celtic boss was quick to rule any possible deal out.
