Celtic manager, Ange Postecoglou, has reportedly become a primary target for Tottenham Hotspur in their search for a permanent successor to Antonio Conte.

Despite the swirling rumours, Postecoglou remains unwavering in his commitment to Celtic, as he steers the team towards the brink of a domestic treble.

Aware of the speculation emanating from North London, Postecoglou admits to being asked about it frequently. However, he firmly maintains that his focus lies solely on the present. Reflecting on his managerial approach, Postecoglou reveals that he does not set timelines for his tenure, preferring to treat each year as a distinct opportunity to build and succeed.

When directly questioned about the Tottenham noise, Postecoglou dismisses its influence on his mindset. His steadfast dedication to his current role and team remains unwavering, leaving no room for distractions or thoughts of alternative paths.

“It doesn’t [come onto my radar] because people hopefully know me well enough now and I have never thought about anything other than being present in where I am.

“I don’t put timelines on things

“I start every year and every job I do I do it as if I’m going to be here forever. The reality is that I’m not going to be.

“But every decision I make is a decision I think will be good for this football club or any football club I work for. I’m pretty proud of the fact that every club I’ve worked with, even after I’ve gone, has had success.

“No one has fallen off a cliff just because I’ve left. Every football club I left had success directly after I’ve gone and I’d like to think that what I’ve put in place is long-lasting.

“From my perspective I don’t put timelines on how long I am at a football club. I just treat every year as a separate year and a chance to build.”

However, Postecoglou is still thinking about the future; the boss has talked about his transfer business via Celtic TV and is still working away in the background, despite nothing being close to finalised. This could suggest that the manager still sees himself at the club after the summer.

“No, not close to confirming anyone

but you know our work started it started a sort of a while back it’s a it’s an ongoing thing.

“I think this transfer market will potentially, I said before, be a tricky one for us I think.

“It’s the first one where potentially they could come first some of our key players and we’re going to be ready for that.

“We’ve got to sort of reassure ourselves against those kind of things happening we’ve identified you know players we kind of think will make us a better side but also if we lose a couple then you know we’re still in good shape over the course of events those things will get announced but now the work is always ongoing”
