CHRIS SUTTON believes the outcry from the other side of Glasgow over the suggestion derby games should be moved to later in the football calendar are born out of fear.

However, the BT Sport pundit believes it shouldn’t happen because it opens a fan of worms.

Many are passing off the idea as Neil Lennon’s but this was initially brought up in several papers and then Neil Lennon and Callum McGregor were asked their thoughts on it.

The idea being, you move the games to late down the fixture list so there’s the beat chance of getting fans into the ground.

There has been kick back since Neil Lennon said he was open to that idea. Chris Sutton believes that whinging is fear manifesto itself as last seasons runners up look to gain as much of an advantage as possible.

This is 100% the case with the first Derby game next season scheduled for Celtic Park in August/September.

“As usual up here, the mere suggestion of it has fans screaming conspiracy, but do me a favour.” Sutton told RecordSport.

“The outcry about Lennon’s suggestion is born out of fear. Celtic’s rivals are looking to gain every single advantage they can this coming season – as the pressure is going to be on like never before.”
