Celtic and the Eddie Howe link has only grown stronger over the Easter weekend but like always, it’s not done until he’s signed on the dotted line.

Gordon Strachan praised Howe for his accomplishments over the past ten years as a boss during the Scottish Cup broadcast on Premier Sports on Saturday.

The former Celtic boss was asked if Eddie would be a good choice to take over at the club and Gordon believes he would be.

However, Strachan did caveat his assessment by warning the Celtic board not to put all their eggs in one basket when it comes to a managerial appointment.

Ever the pessimist, Gordon knows things can change quickly in football and believes the club need to make sure they have other plans should the Howe deal fall through for any reason.

It’s not just as simple as identifying and signing a manager, not this time. We’re implementing a new structure, with a lot of moving parts. If Celtic and Eddie are disagreeable in a fundamental appointment or change then as Strachan says, it could all change.

Roy Keane has been the only other prominent name linked with the position.

  1. If things go wrong (what do you mean no major failings since the foe went bust) and Eddie Hoo changes his mind about anything (like give me forty million quid as a rebuild amount)
The Celtic cheap suits, can get Derek Mcinnis in a swop deal for Scott Brown. As since he is unemployed too. And is used to be laughed at for requesting big money transfers into Aberdeen squads by the Sheep suits.
