Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is relishing what could be a huge week for the club, having a big impact on the season ahead.

Off the back of a 6-0 thumping of St Mirren, the 55-year olds squad now turns their focus to Thursday night’s Europa League play-off tie before heading to Ibrox on Sunday.

As quoted by the Daily Record, whilst Postecoglou isn’t getting too ahead of himself, the former Socceroos boss is looking forward to the task ahead with some big games on the horizon.

He said: “We’ve given ourselves an opportunity to have a memorable week.

“You go into these big games with a chance to play our football.

“Thursday is a great one, not just in terms of the game, but for our season.

“We were disappointed to go out of the Champions League, but we’d still love to play in the Europa League.

“At this club, we’d love to take on the biggest and best in Europe, so it’s a very important game for us, and we’ll go there with belief, for sure.”

After the disappointment of exiting the Champions League, getting into the Europa League by overcoming AZ Alkmaar in the play-off stage would likely be seen as a huge boost.

Of course, the first derby game of the season won’t define our whole season, but it gives Postecoglou and his squad a chance to set a marker down.

So overall, we have a massive week on our hands.

With the Hoops recent form, fans and players alike will be looking forward to that test, though, which is a feeling many would admit they haven’t had in a long time.
