Celtic fan groups have confirmed a late-night development that shifts the temperature around Parkhead. The club has invited supporter organisations to a meeting on Monday 6 October to address concerns over how Celtic are being run, and the “3-match silence” has been put on hold as a result.

In a statement released by the Celtic Fans Collective, the coalition said: “This evening, Celtic fan organisations received an invitation from Celtic FC to attend a meeting with the club on Monday 6th October to discuss ongoing concerns about the running of the club.” Representatives from the club will include chief executive Michael Nicholson and chief financial officer Chris McKay.

The Collective added that the groups have accepted the invitation and “welcome the club’s decision to meet and engage directly on the issues raised,” while stressing they are “under no illusions about the scale of change still required at board level.”

Crucially for match-going supporters, the next stage of the stadium silence action has been postponed. The statement reads: “As a result of this development, the planned continuation of the ‘3-match silence’ has been postponed, in good faith, in the hope and expectation that supporters will now receive full and honest communication from the club.”

This is the first tangible movement from the board since a wave of protests escalated in recent weeks. Fans voiced anger over the summer window, the lack of communication from the directors, and the sense of drift at a club that posted huge cash reserves.

Inside the ground, the message has been impossible to miss. A “Your silence is deafening” banner greeted the board at the Hibs game, followed by a 12-minute hush that underlined how flat Celtic Park sounds without its lifeblood.

Postponing the action ahead of Braga allows the focus to return to Brendan Rodgers’ team on a key European night, but the Collective were clear the campaign continues. “It highlights the strength and influence of a united Celtic support,” they said, thanking fans for bringing “the Celtic board to the table.” They closed by stating they will “continue [the] campaign irrespective of the outcome of this meeting,” pursuing “meaningful, positive change for the betterment of Celtic Football Club and its supporters.”

The ball is now with the board. Monday’s summit must deliver real answers and a plan supporters can trust. If communication is “full and honest,” as requested, this could be a reset moment. If not, expect the pressure to ramp up again.
