ANGE POSTECOGLOU is ready to deal some of his major players in when it comes to long term contracts in order to really build on what he’s doing this season.

Asked about his captain and the plans for Callum McGregor, the Hoops gaffer branded him a pivotal figure and now the window is closed, he can look to deal some of the players in for the foreseeable future

Speaking to RecordSport, Ange said:

“We’ll start addressing those sorts of things now we’ve got through the window.

“We’ll work on the players whose contracts are current and see what we need to do there.

“I’ve no doubt Cal’s going to be a pivotal figure in this football club for the next few years.

“The club will respect his position. We’ll start working on the structure off the field in terms of our staffing and how we do things, which is good.

“I want to build something that’s going to be a sustainable success.

“It’s going to take a little time but we’re chipping away at it.”

Celtic were depleted by call-offs with a team still getting to know each other and gave Real Betis a run for their money.

The Hoops fell 4-3 on the night and will be disappointed to give away a 2-0 lead early on.

The club is still in transition at the moment and the team is showing signs of real progress under Ange. Things can’t transform overnight, it’s all about steady progress and trusting what the manager is building.

It’s good to see the manager talking about the structure off the park and how we can make that better. Something Som Mckay was pushing before he left the building after just 72 days.

The fans have bought into what the manager is doing and we hope the board will continue to back Ange with contracts for his players and in the January window.
