Celtic have come to an agreement with Lihue 2 side Valenciennes over the transfer of midfielder Ismaila Soro.

Foot Mercato report a €150k fee has been reached between the two clubs that will see the Neil Lennon signing finally cut ties with the club.

Soro was brought in by Neil Lennon and during the pandemic season was seen as a solution by fans to our pedestrian midfield. However, it would show up as a symptom of that horrid season rather than a solution.

Soro was reckless and erratic in the middle of the park. Once Ange Postecoglou came in and he had enough numbers in the squad, Soro was dropped.

Last season Celtic sent the player out to Portuguese side Arouca but he didn’t do enough for them to take up an option to buy.

The move to Valenciennes has been touted for couple of weeks and it now looks like it’s about be done and dusted.

We wish Ismaila all the best fort the future.
