Timo Weah opened his Celtic goal account at the weekend, slotting it past the Airdrie goalkeeper after coming off the bench – it was a great moment for the teenager.

However, Ryan Christie admits the youngster has been teased in the dressing room since the goal for his over exuberent celebrations in front of the fans.

After celebrating with his teammates, the player then went back to the crowd and started pumping his fist and grabbing his jersey. The 18-year-old obviously thrilled to score on his debut and hit the ground running.

That hasn’t stopped the players for giving him grief about it.

“Timo could not have planned it better, coming off the bench and scoring a goal.” Christie told CelticTV.

“He was getting a bit of stick for his celebration because it seemed to go on for about five minutes.

“Fair play to him, he’s been eager to get going since he joined us in Dubai.

Timo spoke of how excited he was after the game and how the noise overwhelmed him. We think there will be plenty of the current crop of players telling the forward he hasn’t seen anything yet.

If Timo was to score a winning goal versus Valencia he may never come back down after that high. Here’s hoping he does!
