Everyone has been having their say on Celtic since their defeat to Kilmarnock which has compounded their poor start to the season.

Some have come out in defence of the bhoys from people you would expect such as Neil Lennon but there’s one man who you may have thought might twist the knife in while he had the chance but has instead taken the high road.

Craig Levein was asked about the Celtic teams early season slump and he was less jubilant about it than others.

“They’ve had a slower start but it’s very early in the season and they will get stronger for sure.” Levein told the STV team.

“Brendan has proven he is a top, top manager with top, top players.

“They’re having a little blip but with the resources they have, they’ll be there for sure.”

“Brendan was talking about his side’s form not being great but they have the resources to turn that around.

Levein has been the panto villain for many Celtic fans over the past 18-months and to many other fans in the league too.

He likes to mix it and wind people up whenever possible.

However, he knows himself the danger of underestimating the bhoys and writing them off.

Celtic are going through a bad spell but as the Hearts manager says, it’s very early in the season.
