CELTIC have been given a major shot in the arm in the pursuit of Alfie Doughty.
The player’s agent has told Charlton he has no intention of signing a new deal and will either leave this month or sign a pre-contract deal elsewhere.
Charlton could have cashed in on the player in the summer when Celtic had two bids thrown out for Alfie. They decided to keep the player and hope he would change his mind.
Since then, Alfie suffered a long term injury and has been out of the Charlton side. There’s a chance he will never play for the club again if he signs a deal elsewhere.
As Sky Sports reporter, Anthony Joseph mentions, Stoke have made a bid to take Alfie now, but there’s no word yet if Celtic have offered a contract to the Charlton player.
Charlton Athletic boss Lee Bowyer has revealed that Alfie Doughty’s agent told the club that his client will not be signing a new contract.
Stoke City have made a bid for the player.

It would be strange if Celtic weren’t still interested, they really tried their best to bring Alfie in during the summer window. They could wait until the end of the season to bring him in and would unlikely want him straight away, carrying a fee.
