In what has been billed as a dead rubber Champions League encounter, Celtic still face a golden opportunity to bolster their financial resources with a victory or draw against Feyenoord.

With UEFA offering a substantial €2.8 million for each victory and €930,000 for a draw in the group stages, the Hoops could substantially enhance their transfer kitty ahead of the crucial January window.

This financial injection could be crucial for The Bhoys as they aim to strengthen their squad. Right now, the team is not performing and Brendan Rodgers believes he needs at least four quality players in the door.

Since 2017, the Parkhead side has failed to secure a win in the Champions League, managing only a solitary point in the current group stage. Although Celtic can no longer progress in European competitions this season, and Feyenoord has already secured a spot in the Europa League, there are stakes for both teams to go out and get the win.

The previous clash between these two sides saw the Dutch champions emerge victorious with a 2-0 win. However, Celtic is eager to flip the script in their final group match by avenging their defeat and concluding their campaign on a high note.

The potential return of Cameron Carter-Vickers could provide a significant boost for the Scottish champions. The defender’s availability is a welcome relief after fears of a hamstring tear were allayed following a recent scan.

While Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada are back in training, their participation in the matchday squad remains uncertain as they recover from injuries. The Bhoys will still be without Reo Hatate due to a long-term injury.

As they prepare to face Feyenoord, Celtic’s ambitions extend beyond mere pride; a win here could be a financial game-changer, offering a glimmer of hope in a season marred by European disappointments.

  1. Almost 3m tax free just North of the festive season, the fun the largest shareholders and directors could have with that Ehhhh???

A large bit of Celtic Plc’s last profit should be spent on some transfers in (and out) but as usual after a very last minute rush it will be about 2.5m not 25m.

So a mixed bag of munkie nuts from yer grannie, that will last until January the sixth, rather than a one and a half litre bottle of a deluxe mature malt from a far away Scottish islet from your rich relations in Nova Scotia.
That can be pulled out at special occasions and savoured

If you love Celtic and fear the non spending foe. Then stand outside Paradise with yer flairs lit.

But all you get for singing the praise of our lord Jesus (and his long flowing Goonie wearing da) and the Lisbon Lions and complaints, is shuffled about by Rod Steward or arrested by Glasgow’s tattoo’d and bearded finest police women.
