We reported earlier this week Tony Watt had come back from his short stint from CSKA Sofia and was training with his local club Motherwell to keep fit.

Stephen Robinson insisted the former Celtic striker was just training with the Steelmen to keep his fitness up. However, it has transpired the Motherwell boss has liked what he’s seen – so much so Motherwell have signed Watt on a short term deal until the end of the season.

Tony hasn’t found a proper home since leaving Celtic and has already played for Hearts and St Johnstone in the SPFL. He will be hoping to help Motherwell consolidate third place with the club flying high in the league this year.

Tony was in the stands to watch Celtic beat his new club 4-0 on Wednesday night. The lad is still a Celtic fan so he might have enjoyed the game before he signed on the dotted line.

The next time the bhoys do take on Motherwell, it’s likely we could come up against him.
