West Ham are the visitors to Celtic Park this afternoon as Celtic round off their pre-season campaign.

The SPFL season kicks off next Saturday where Ange Postecoglou will look to try and win the the title at the first time of asking.

There’s still a lot to do behind the scenes at Celtic and the game today gives the chance for many to get more minutes into their legs ahead of the trip to Denmark next week and for the Tynescastle opener.

With that in mind, here is today’s team:

The manager has surprised many by starting a very strong side against the Hammers and the likely side who will start midweek against Midtjylland.

Davie Moyes is no stranger to Celtic Park and his side did fantastically well in the English Premier League last term. They’ll be looking for a good performance and a result in Glasgow so it should be competitive.

There will be 18500 fans heading to the game today – the biggest crowd at the stadium since March 2020. After today, the Dundee game in two weeks will have 24,500 in attendance.

  1. Nearly half-time and becoming an embarrassment. I reckon it will end up 6 or 7-2. Not good. Every time West Ham go forward you feel they might score.

  2. Oh dear oh dear oh dear. As predictable as night following day. Celtic are a poor, poor side with a defence made up of young men who may never make the grade. That is the real tragedy and shame of the current situation Celtic go into a qualifier with guys playing for them that may be working in a bank or building site within 18 months as they are deemed not good enough. The men that run Celtic should be ashamed of this and that includes the new CEO He has been hanging around for 4 months or so and preparation should be more advanced. What a game to play before a qualifier. Confidence is at an all time low. Could end up 4-0. Celtic are a gutless outfit and it will cost the manager his job sooner than any of us will like.
