Despite lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia, offering an annual salary of £1.1 million more than Celtic, the 23-year-old has expressed his desire to join the Hoops. He’s due to travel to Scotland in the coming days to complete the move.

Former Celtic left-back Emilio Izaguirre urged the winger to make the move, and spoke very highly of him.

Throughout the summer, Palma was heavily linked with a move to Rangers a few weeks back. Additionally, clubs like Anderlecht and Watford also showed interest in the winger.

Emilio Izaguirre, now the Sporting Director at Honduran club Motagua strongly advised Palma to embrace the opportunity of a £11,000-a-week move to Glasgow.

Speaking about the potential move, Izaguirre commented, “Luis is a player who has talent and it would be very good for him to make the leap from Greece to Scotland.” [MailPlus]

He further added, “The Scottish league is a very important league and it can help you greatly. If the move comes to fruition, Luis has to expect that it will be very close to the English Premier League. During my time there I saw many players from Celtic and the Scottish league go to the English Premier League. If it happens, it will be for the good of the player and for Honduran football.”

Celtic fans will be eagerly waiting to see Palma don the iconic green and white jersey and make his mark in the Scottish Premiership.
