According to reports, former Celtic hero Mikael Lustig will be on the move this summer with the defender falling down the pecking order at Gent.

The defender started off well but has fell away from the first team, with Gent adding to their defensive options next term, SunSport is reporting the player has been told he’s surplus to requirements.

Mikael signed a long term deal with the Belgian’s just last year so the ball will be in the player’s court. If he wants more game time he may look to make a move.

Spending a sizeable amount of his career at Celtic, Lustig is still a fan favourite. There was a recognition he was slowing down as a player before he did eventually move on.

He still keeps in touch with the club and celebrated nine in a row with the rest of us this week when the title was announced.

We’d love to see Mikael find a new home to play football but if not, bring him back as a coach, Lenny!
