Antwerp defender Dylan Batubinsika and longtime friend of Moussa Dembele was speaking about his friendship with the Lyon striker to L’equipe.

During the interview, Dembele’s move to Celtic came up and Dylan made a big admission about the striker’s choices when he decided to head to Glasgow.

Moussa came to Celtic to join the Rodgers revolution, the club picking the Frenchman up for just 500k.

The January before Dembele signed for Celtic, he was subject of a large bid from Spurs and almost joined the London club before the deal broke down.

Celtic came calling in the summer with Moussa and his reps very happy to come to Celtic and prove himself.

Dylan told L’equpe he thought the move was a bit bizarre and revealed another club came calling for Dembele shortly before his Parkhead move.

“Everything he did from the beginning was risky but his most bizarre decision was Celtic.

“I told him, ‘You have Chelsea on you and you go to Celtic?’ But he knew.”

After two seasons at Celtic, the striker left under a cloud to join Lyon for a club record fee.

Knowing he could make a name for himself at Celtic instead of making a move to Chelsea’s fringe squad was the right call.
