We’re keen to stress that Neil Lennon is the manager of Celtic and while he’s in the job and making the decisions he has the backing of Celtic fans.

However, with the news Slaven Bilic has become available, it’s set tongues wagging that he could be perfect as the next Celtic boss if or when Neil Lennon departs.

There’s a wide belief that win or lose this season, a major reset button will be hit at the club with lots of change.

If we lose, then it’s hard to see the manager staying on. If we win, Neil Lennon dropping the mic on ten in a row would be a great way to bow out from the madness.

Bilic has been linked with the Celtic job for over ten years but it’s never came to be.

We looked back to 2009 when Gordon Strachan left the club. His agent, former Celt Rudi Vata claimed at the time, Slaven thought he could take Celtic to the next level while still sitting as the Croatia boss.

Speaking to Sky Sports back in 2009, Vata said:

“Slaven is certainly available to talk to Celtic, but we have not heard anything,” said Vata.

“He would be keen for a new challenge and is well aware of the club and the passion of its supporters. “He thinks he could take Celtic to the next level. We will wait and see.”

You never know in football, things happen at strange times. Could he be someone we look at down the road.
